We encourage parents and families to be involved in the school and to share their gifts in it.
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
How easy it is to agree with this familiar admonition, to say to ourselves, "Why of course, it makes total sense". Yet, the truth and goodness of God's Word is so much more than practical wisdom. What the study notes from the ESV Study Bible reveal is nothing short of astounding, and that's the preciousness of children in God's great plan for the world. "This proverb, founded on the covenant with Abraham (Genesis 18:19) encourages parents to "train" (i.e. to 'dedicate' or 'initiate') their children in the way (i.e. the right moral orientation) by pointing to the kinds of conduct that pleases the Lord, and to the normal outcome of each kind of conduct. The training will include love and instruction as well as 'rod of discipline'" (Proverbs 22:15).
The heart of "train up a child in the way he should go" isn't one's best-intentioned human effort, but rather God's own heart to bless Abraham and "all the nations of the earth" (Genesis 18:18). That means Israel, the entire Middle East, and every nation where graduates and friends of Nazareth Baptist School live and serve the Lord. The awesome truth of Proverbs 22:6 is that it shows us how we, as Christ's followers, can participate and fulfill in the very promise God gave to Abraham: "For I have chosen him, that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He has promised him".
Godly wisdom that endures forever - and works, today.
The Nazareth Baptist School has partnered with the parents of their student to train up a child in the way s/he should go. Please support them with your prayers.
Please pray that more people from abroad would come and help in the spiritual program of the school.
