Equipping Our Students to Give

It is our responsibility to equip our students to give back.

As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
1Peter 4:10

One of my favorite career development courses taught that people obtain a satisfying work experience when their skills, talents, interests, and passions intersect with meeting a need. Developing skills, discovering our passions and finding a place where those skills and passions are needed is an intentional process that takes time. Spending quality time to realize how these come together in order to work more often in a "sweet spot" is worth the investment. Similarly, when we discover the spiritual gift the Lord has given us and develop a willing spirit to utilize the gift to meet the needs of the Kingdom of God, we will be most satisfied.

At the moment a person trusts Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, that believer receives spiritual gifts from God. These gifts are not natural talents or abilities that typically bring personal recognition. Instead, these gifts have a special capacity to help us serve others or share with others the good news that Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead so that we can bring recognition to God.

Many believers never discover the gifts the Lord has given them. It is as if they were given a beautifully wrapped gift with their name specially engraved on the tag but they place the unopened gift on a shelf. Yet, if we ask our Lord to help us unwrap this special gift and utilize the gift with His strength and power, we will not only experience deep satisfaction in embracing the gift to meet the needs of the world but we will participate in bringing glory to His great name!

Please pray that the Lord would give strength, protection and wisdom to the workers who will build the new school.
